Larger Centers like Calgary and Edmonton have stand alone opioid dependency treatment programs, in addition to those program all Albertan's can receive service through the Virtual Opioid Dependency Program from Alberta Health Services. This program will help a person get care today and help them with care until they can connect with a local provider, like their family doctor or treatment clinic. If there is no local provider then the VODP team will continue care.
The VODP program uses technology to connect clients with the care that they need. VODP can provide same day medication starts and also helps connect you with other care providers through their transitions program.
